About

Some thoughts from our founder, Rev Shawn Tomlinson, the present Curate of Christ Church Eaton, Norwich ...

"When the EWLS (Eaton Wild Ladies Swimming) set up as a group earlier this year, we knew from the outset that we wanted something positive to result from our chilly endeavours. Our group was inspired to support Littlelifts by a presentation given to the group by Kay Phoenix, Littlelifts Operations and Events Executive. We were so impressed by the obvious care and compassion with which the items in the boxes were chosen to alleviate discomfort and bring a little joy during very difficult times. It was very moving to hear how much the boxes are appreciated, and of the wonderful team enabling Littlifts to go from strength to strength in such a short time.

Compassion opens a sacred space in our hearts - it connects us to another's suffering and pain.  Jesus' heart was always attuned and full of compassion, always attentive to the needs of others. Compassion generates love which moves us to do something more, compelling us to get involved, to care to the point of action.

Our decision was made to get involved with this amazing charity, so if you see us swimming, come over and have a chat, we'd love to hear your story, to share ours and see how together we can make a difference however small in this world of ours."

With love from the EWLS
